Girls Empowerment Camp
(Ages 14-18, Male & Female)
Girls Empowerment Camp (GEC) is a free two-day camp open to teens ages 14-18 that introduces them to the fire service and provides campers with a realistic, hands-on overview of firefighting. The camp exposes the teens to all aspects of a fire service career beginning with requirements. The program also empowers campers with life skills and professional guidance that encourages them to pursue a career in public safety. The camp is held at the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Training Center.
Fire Cadets
(Ages 14-21, Male & Female)
The Fire Cadet Program gives young people valuable insight into the fire fighting profession. This insight will allow the individual to decide whether or not he or she desires to pursue a greater role in the fire service. By participating in the Fire Cadet Program, the individual will gain personal confidence, learn to use various tools, develop mechanical skills and aptitude, and gain a greater awareness of personal and fire safety. The camp is held at the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Training Center.
