FIREFIGHTER PARAMEDIC TRAINEE
For licensed paramedics ready to launch a fire service career
Have your California Paramedic License but new to the fire service? This position is for you. You’ll be hired, complete OCFA firefighter training, and build the skills needed to serve as a firefighter/paramedic in the field. No prior firefighting experience is required, and OCFA provides training to help you succeed in a dual-role emergency response career.

FIREFIGHTER PARAMEDIC PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
For experienced firefighter/paramedics
Already a licensed paramedic with real emergency response experience? This position is for candidates with a California Paramedic License plus at least 6 months of full-time experience serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic with a government agency, responding to emergency incidents and calls across diverse emergency environments.

FIREFIGHTER TRAINEE
For those starting a firefighting career
Ready to break into the fire service? As a Firefighter Trainee, you’ll be hired and attend the OCFA firefighter academy to learn how to fight fires, respond to emergencies, and perform rescue and prevention work. No firefighting experience is required, but you must meet minimum education and physical requirements. This is your first step toward becoming a full-time career firefighter.
